Burial Questions

Frequently Asked Burial Questions:

You may have several questions about the burial process. See our list of frequently asked questions below or contact us and we would be glad to help.

What type of Caskets are there to Choose From? There are a wide variety of casket to choose from. Including hardwood, metal, cloth covered, and precious metals. Click here to see our selection of caskets.

How much are Cemetery Fees? Fees differ by cemetery and district. We suggest contacting the cemetery to find out their costs.

What cemeteries are located in the Sea to Sky Corridor? There are three cemeteries located in the Sea to Sky Corridor; Mt. Garibaldi Cemetery, Whistler Cemetery, and the Pemberton Cemetery.

What is a Visitation? A visitation is a private gathering of family and or friends to view your loved one in a peaceful setting. Many family's wish to see their loved one a final time. Moments like these can be very helpful with the grieving and mourning process.

Is Embalming required by Law? Embalming is not required by law. Embalming is the practice of preparing the body for a visitation or funeral for family and friends to view. It is a family's choice.

What Clothes should my loved one Wear? This is a very common question we get. Many family's think stereotypically that their loved one needs to be dressed in a suit/formal wear. The decision is up to the family. Many family's choose clothing that represents their loved one best. From Hawaiian shirts, formal suits, to their favourite pair of jeans. The choice is up to the family, we just recommend that it best represents your loved one.

Can I be at the Graveside when they place the Casket In? Of course. We call this a graveside service where we arrange all the coordination with the cemetery, have seating for 10, a picture on display, a hearse for transporting the casket, preferred family music, and many more options for the family.

What is a Hearse? A Hearse is a traditional vehicle that carries the casket to the cemetery. Our Cadillac Hearse is black and can be used for both burial and cremation services.
